Things to do in Dubai w/ kids
If there's something you're not warned about before becoming a parent, it's the constant need to have a list of entertaining plans for your kids.
Well, if you're in Dubai, this blog will help solve that problem for you.
If you’re looking for fun things to do in Dubai with kids, we’ve drawn up a short and sharp list of some of the best activities to experience across the city. We’ve segmented the activities into morning, afternoon & evening brackets, with a small section about activities for small and large families. Jump in to inspire your next adventure.
Morning
Morning Desert Adventure: A Morning Desert Adventure is an exciting race against the sunrise your kids will absolutely love. To win the race, you’ll set your alarm early and head to the desert in a 4x4 with the Arabian Adventures team, all in time to take your spot on the dunes for the best sunrise view in Dubai. You’ll also enjoy a desert breakfast and wildlife spotting opportunities in the cool of the morning for the perfect start to the day.
DDCR Wildlife Tour: The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve has recently opened a new look Visitor Centre! The Centre is an interactive experience that tells the story of the DDCR's conservation efforts, with life sized models of local animals and visual displays to keep kids engaged. There is also the option of adding on a wildlife drive after the tour, to see some of the animals that roam the protected Reserve.
Afternoon
IMG Worlds of Adventure: This theme park can be enjoyed all year round. Even in the peak of summer, it's a great place to take the kids to burn their endless energy as it's all completely indoors. There are zones dedicated to Marvel, Cartoon Network, Lost Valley Dinosaur Adventure, and plenty more in between. Oh, and kids go free!
Ski Dubai: Located in Mall of the Emirates, Ski Dubai is an indoor ski slope...in the middle of Dubai. There are some nice and easy slopes for the inexperienced, as well as tobogganing, snowboarding, and meet and greets with the resident penguins. This is another indoor activity (of course...) that can be enjoyed all year round, too.
Evening
Global Village: An evening at Global Village always proves to be one of our most popular activities. It’s a family friendly destination full of food, culture, entertainment and attractions, spread across pavilions dedicated to the countries of the world. An evening at Global Village is ideal for families both large and small and is a great place for larger gatherings owing to the number of attractions and things to do.
Evening Desert Safari: For the ultimate evening adventure, it's got to be a desert safari. It’s a must on your Dubai bucket list, including a dune drive, camel ride, sunset stop and wildlife spotting opportunities, followed a live BBQ dinner enjoyed in a Bedouin style camp. Perfect for small and large families alike, and by far one of our most popular desert activities.
Small families
Lost Chambers Aquarium: A mystery lies beneath Atlantis The Palm, waiting to be discovered in the Lost Chambers Aquarium. Themed on the lost city of Atlantis, this 11-million litre aquarium, home to over 65,000 marine animals, is set across 14 fascinating chambers of discovery, unfurling the Atlantis story. Guests of all ages can enjoy the Lost Chambers, and its position next to Atlantis Aquaventure make it an ideal post-waterpark activity. Pro tip: scan the QR codes throughout the aquarium for an AI experience!
Adventure Pass: If you’re a family of 3, 4 or 5, you can enjoy all of the activities above, and so much more, for up to 40% less. There’s a 3-activity or a 5-activity pass, which can both be purchased for set prices, and include up to 16 excursions which can be added to your pass. Not only is this perfect for families looking to entertain kids with different preferences, it also allows you to save money on activities by booking in one place, rather than purchasing separately. Win win.
Large families
Overnight Desert Safari: Camping overnight in the heart of the DDCR is an experience the entire family will never forget. The Overnight Desert Safari is set in a private desert camp with deluxe tents, with your itinerary including safari activities such as wildlife walks, dune drives, sandboarding and a BBQ dinner in a Bedouin style dining space. The best thing? Families can reserve the entire camp to experience the whole space for themselves. This makes it a truly unique and memorable activity for large families to enjoy together.
